From Intern to Full-Time: The Playbook That Actually Works

Over a third of Aetarna students receive full-time job offers at the companies where they intern. It's not luck. It's a predictable outcome of specific behaviors — and you can learn all of them.
Solve problems that weren't assigned to you
The interns who get offers consistently report doing one thing: spotting a problem no one asked them to fix, and fixing it anyway. This signals the most valuable trait: proactivity.
Build relationships across the company
Your direct manager is not the only person who influences hiring decisions. Get coffee (virtual or real) with people in different teams. Ask questions. Show curiosity. Build a reputation across the organization.
Document and share your impact
Keep a running log of everything you've shipped, improved, or contributed to. In your final week, share a brief summary with your manager. Numbers are powerful: "Reduced load time by 40%" is better than "Worked on the frontend."
Ask directly — but at the right time
In week eight or nine of a twelve-week internship, it\'s entirely appropriate to ask your manager whether the company has a path for you. Don\'t wait until the last day. Give them time to make a case internally.
